About A21
A21 is a global anti-human trafficking organization dedicated to abolishing slavery everywhere, forever. Human trafficking is illegal trade of human beings and recruitment, control, and use of people for their bodies and for their labor. Through force, fraud, and coercion, people everywhere are being bought and sold against their will–right now in the 21st century. However, slavery is more stoppable than ever before. And that’s why we’re here, rallying around the world and doing the work together. A21 combats modern-day slavery through multi-dimensional approach: Reach, Rescue and Restore.
What is Walk for Freedom?
Walk For Freedom is an integral part of A21s efforts to reach the vulnerable and prevent human trafficking from ever happening in the first place, as well as reaching people with the information to recognize and report human trafficking.
On Saturday, October 14, 2023, thousands of people will hit the streets in hundreds of cities across the globe to walk in a single file line–holding posters and handing out flyers to reach their city with information about human trafficking and how to end it.
Every step reduces vulnerability locally by empowering your neighbours, friends and community to identify and report trafficking suspicions. This is a day of global awareness and local action in the fight against human trafficking.
How can we be a part of this?
Exciting news! Fila Church Helsinki will be hosting Walk for Freedom 2023 on October 14th here in Helsinki. It’s a silent walk to represent the millions of people still trapped in slavery today. We would love to invite you to join us, raise awareness about modern day slavery and human trafficking and make a difference together!
Every dollar raised, every poster seen, and every person made aware of human trafficking contributes to a world where freedom is a right for all.

Location: The walk begins at Kansalaistori and ends at Senate Square.
